Over the course of the next couple of weeks work your way up to between 1 and 2 kg of food waste, per day (half in the morning, half in the evening) but never more. Give plenty of water. Don't overfeed (underfeeding is okay but try not to let more than a week go by without some food or simply add more animal dung which breaks down very slowly if you have to leave the digestor for several weeks). Avoid meat and protein in the beginning until you have a really good daily gas output -- we want to avoid ammonia poisoning the bacteria. Try to take the pH of the system (Mohammed as a pharmacist may have pH paper). Try to keep the pH as close to 7 as possible! This is great news! Al Hamdullilah!
